January 7: Whole School Community Meeting:  9:15 am - 9:40 am
The January whole school community meeting will be held on Thursday,
January 7 at 9:15 am in the Ironia Gym.  Please join us as our third grade
students lead us.  Parents are invited to attend and see how our students begin
each day.  Remember to have your child wear light blue as we celebrate our
monthly Character Education theme of Diversity/Tolerance.

January 8: Inside Ironia - deadline for submission
The deadline for the Ironia PTA monthly newsletter, Inside Ironia, is Friday,

January 11: Panther Cash Orders Due
Panther Cash order forms and payment are due on Monday, January 11.
Please click the Panther Cash link from the PTA homepage and see how easy
it is to earn money for Ironia.  You may place your order online at the Great
Lakes Scrip website: www.shopwithscrip.com
Please submit a copy of your order form along with your payment (checks made
payable to the Ironia PTA).  The program has earned $1,000+ for the current

January 12: In-house trips:  The Speech Doctor (Language Arts)
The 2nd annual Ironia in-house field trip assembly, a language arts based
program, The Speech Doctor, will be held on Tuesday, January 12.
Learning how to overcome speech anxiety at a young age will prevent a
life-long fear of speaking in public.  The Speech Doctor, Kathleen 
Williams, Ph. D., cures various "Speech Sicknesses" that keep students
from speaking effectively.  The highly interactive, laugh out loud funny
program will teach students strategies to speak with confidence, clarity
and expression.  Two shows are being offered:
Showtime:   1:15 pm - Grades:  4 & 5
2:15 pm - Grades:  2 & 3
January 14: Ironia Spelling Bee
The annual Ironia Spelling Bee will held on Thursday, January 14 from
9:30 am - 11:00 am.  Students in grades 3 - 5 will attend the spelling bee.
Students in grades 4 & 5 will participate in the bee.
January 14: PAWS:  After School Enrichment Program
The PTA sponsored PAWS after school enrichment program will begin on 
Thursday, January 14 and will run for four consecutive Thursdays:
January 14, 21, 28 and February 4 (snow dates:  February 11 & 18).  Classes
will be held in the Ironia classrooms beginning after school at 3:38 pm.
Pick-up time will be promptly at 5:00 pm.  Please be sure to write a note
each week for your child to attend the program.  Students will not be permitted
to attend without written permission from a parent/guardian.  Due to allergy
concerns, please do not send a snack with your child.  In case of inclement
weather, parents will be notified.  If you have any questions, please contact

January 15: Ironia School Spirit Day:  60's Day - Peace, Love & Hippies
How much school spirit do you have?!  Join the Ironia staff and students on 
Friday, January 15 as we pay homage to the 1960s.  Wear your favorite tie
dyed shirt, bell-bottom jeans, sandals and help us to bring peace, love and
harmony to the halls of Ironia.
January 18: Randolph Township Schools Closed in Observance of
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
January 20: PTA meeting:  9:15 am - Ironia library
The Ironia PTA will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 20 at
9:15 am.  Please join us in the Ironia Library as we welcome Randolph 
Township Board of Education (BOE) member Jeanne Stifelman.  Ms. Stifelman
is the chair of the BOE Finance, Facilities and Transportation Committee (FFT)
and will be presenting an overview of the FFT budget process.
Note that the Ironia PTA bylaws are up for review and will be available for
the second time at our meeting for anyone who wishes to read them.
Remember that children are always welcome!  If you have any questions or
or issues that you would like to discuss, please contact the PTA prior to the
meeting so that we may add your information to the agenda.  You may email

January 21: Market Day Orders Due (online orders due January 23)
The Market Day Shop-At-Home grocery program offers a wide selection of

January 21: Randolph Community Blood Drive
The Randolph Community Blood Drive, sponsored by the Randolph High School
(RHS) PTSA, will be held on Thursday, January 21 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm 
in the RHS Commons.  As our community grows, so does the need for blood
among our families, friends and neighbors.  Your donation will greatly benefit
others.  Please join us in this life saving service.  All donors will receive a
complimentary cholesterol screening.  Please bring a signed or photo ID with
you.  Childcare will be provided by the RHS National Honor Society students.

January 29: Market Day pick-up (Ironia Gym):  3:45 pm - 4:45 pm
Market Day orders will be available for pick-up on Friday, January 29 at
3:45 pm in the Ironia Gym.  Please remember to bring your payment.  Note that
cash or checks (made payable to Market Day) will be accepted.  Credit cards
may be used for online orders only.  All orders must be picked up by 4:45 pm.
*The Ironia PTA is not responsible for any order left after 4:45 pm.
