January 4-28:	Winterfest Used Book Collection
		Cleaning out your closets and bookshelves?  It's time once again to start
		collecting books for the Winterfest Book Sale!  We will only be accepting
		children's books (board books through 8th grade reading level).  Please
		bring your gently used books, DVDs and videos to the Ironia cafeteria

	January 7:	Ironia Reading Train:  All Aboard!
		To encourage and support the love of reading in our children, Ironia students
		will participate in the Ironia Reading Train silent reading program each
		Friday from 9:15 am - 9:40 am.  All students are asked to bring one or two
		books and sit with their class in the hallway and read silently.  Ironia staff
		members will model appropriate silent reading etiquette.  Welcome aboard!
	January 10:	Whole School Community Meeting:  9:15 am - 9:40 am
		The January whole school community meeting will be held today at
		9:15 am in the Ironia Gym.  Please join us as our fourth grade students
		lead us.  Parents are invited to attend to see how our students begin each
		day.  Remember to have your child wear blue as we celebrate our
		monthly Character Education theme of Diversity/Tolerance.
	January 12:	PTA meeting:  9:15 am - Ironia Library
		Please join us at 9:15 am in the Ironia Library for our January PTA meeting.
		We will be joined by Ms. Kerstin Stewart - Director of K-12 Guidance for
		Randolph Township Schools.  Ms. Stewart will provide an overview of
		programs and services.  All are welcome to attend.  Children are welcome!
		NOTE:  All PTA meeting agendas will be posted to the PTA website two
		days prior to the meeting date.  All PTA meeting minutes will be posted
		one week after the meeting.  We appreciate your patience as information

	January 13:	PAWS:  After School Enrichment Program
		The PTA sponsored PAWS after school enrichment program will begin on
		Thursday, January 13 and will run for four consecutive Thursdays:
		January 13, 20, 27 and February 3 (snow dates:  February 10 & 17).  Classes
		will be held in the Ironia classrooms beginning after school at 3:38 pm.
		Pick-up time will be promptly at 5:00 pm.  Please be sure to write a note
		each week for your child to attend the program.  Students will not be permitted
		to attend without written permission from a parent/guardian.  Due to allergy
		concerns, please do not send a snack with your child.  In case of inclement

	January 14:	PTA Family Fun Event - Pajama Dance Party
		Join us for a FREE PTA sponsored family fun event on Friday, January 14
		as we host a Pajama Dance Party!  Come dance in your pajamas and
		enjoy time with Ironia friends!  The event will be held from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
		(doors open at 6:45 pm).  All children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
		It is not a drop-off event.  Music will be provided by E-Entertainment.  Please
		bring a peanut-free snack to share and beverages will be provided.  If you

	January 20:	Randolph Community Blood Drive
		The Randolph Community Blood Drive, sponsored by the Randolph High School
		(RHS) PTSO, will be held on Thursday, January 20 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
		in the RHS Commons.  As our community grows, so does the need for blood
		among our families, friends and neighbors.  Your donation will greatly benefit
		others.  Please join us in this life saving service.  All donors will receive a
		brief health exam.  Please bring a signed or photo ID with you.  Child care
		will be provided by the RHS National Honor Society students.  Thank you for
		your support.

	January 25:	In-house trips:  Arithmetickles (Mathematics)
		ARITHMETICKLES is a unique, one-of-a-kind interactive assembly that "takes
		math out of the textbook and into everyday life."  By exploring the most
		imaginative and entertaining aspects of learning, ARITHMETICKLES combines
		comedy, pantomime and sound effects to demonstrate how learning math can
		be exciting, challenging and FUN!  Students become "stars of the show" as they
		apply their understanding of basic math to answer grade appropriate questions,
		resulting in positive confidence building.  Two shows will be performed:
		Showtime:	1:15 pm - Grades:  4 & 5
			2:15 pm - Grades:  1 - 3

		or checks (made payable to Market Day) will be accepted.  Credit cards
		may be used for online orders only.  All orders must be picked up by
		4:45 pm.  The PTA is not responsible for any order left after 4:45 pm.

		Show your Ironia Spirit and participate in the 2nd annual Winterfest Spirit Week!
		Be sure to check the daily schedule for a list of theme days.

		Show your Ironia Spirit and wear a jersey, t-shirt, etc. of your favorite sports
		team!  Show your team spirit of the NJ Devils, NY Giants, NJ Yankees, -or- your
		favorite Randolph team!
