for pure enjoyment and are separated by age: ACTING 101 (1st-3rd Grade) Students will explore an introduction to acting, including exercises, scene work and theatre games designed to develop performance skills and technique. Emphasis will be placed on creativity, imagination and FUN!!!! ACTING (4th – 5th
Grade) Instructor: Courtney Spellman A fun introduction into the fundamentals of acting including warm-up exercises, theatre games and improvisation. Students will explore their creative side, collaborate with their fellow actors and draw on their imaginative skills to perform mini-scripts and dialogues in class. If time permits, students will perform a one act play for a small audience during class time. ART ADVENTURES WITH COLOR ME MINE (K-5th
Grade) Instructors: Pauline Liu Please note this class costs $65 When you enter the world of Color Me Mine ART ADVENTURES, the opportunities are limitless. The pottery painting classes will bring the children across the continents to Asian and learn the Arts of Asia. The price of this adventure is $65 for 4 weeks where the children will be painting their own bathroom set. Each week we will introduce a famous artist and his style for the children to apply on a soap dish, a lotion pump, a toothbrush holder and a tumbler. Grade) Instructor: Bijal Patel Introductions to Henna, what is Henna, why people use it, where is it popular and how to get the most color? You will also learn different types of Henna designs by drawing on paper. You will learn how to prepare Henna paste, ingredients- Henna powder (Lawsonia Inermis) plant leaves powder, Tea, lemon juice, Eucalyptus oil (optional). You will learn to make a Henna cone with plastic and make designs on your hands and feet with real Henna – This class requires a permission slip to participate – which will be sent prior to the start of the program. Get ready for spring COOKING CLASS: (K-1st Graders) Kids come and learn how fun it is to
cook! This Cooking class will offer a wide variety of kid friendly
recipes while teaching not only the basics of measurements but the
kids will be able to be creative as we discuss and prepare new recipes! CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATIONS &
EVIDENCE COLLECTION: 4th & 5th Grade Instructor: Bradley Feinberg This is hands on class. Students will be completely involved in evidence collection mentioned below -Fingerprinting techniques of individuals and latent crime scene prints. -Molding and casting of foot, hand and tire prints. -Marking, documentation and collection of crime scene evidence. -Photographing of a crime scene. -Interviewing and note taking of witnesses. CUPCAKE DECORATING (K-2nd Grade) Instructors: Jill Frankel and Cecilia
Kunzmann Join us as we learn the art of cupcake decorating. Each week students will frost and decorate 3-4 delicious cupcakes. We will be using a variety of frostings, candy and nuts to finish our creative and fun masterpieces. At the end of the session, we will compile our recipes into a “Cupcake Cookbook” to take home. Grade) Instructor: Dara Siegel Create necklaces, bracelets, earrings and more using all types of materials including beads, felt, and found objects! You will learn to bend wire, create links and work with findings to make beautiful objects to wear or give as thoughtful gifts. The skills you learn will allow you to continue your love for creating special handcrafted artwork for years to come. LEGO BUILD IT (K- 5th Grade) Instructor: Karen May Come and build with us! Each week we will have LEGO challenges for master builders. Lots of cool new materials will be provided for you to work with. Let’s see what you can create! Come and have FUN! will be separated by grade levels OLYMPIC 2010 CELEBRATION (1st-4th Grade) Instructor: Donna Lawrence Get into the spirit of the Olympic 2010 games by simulating Winter
Olympic events in creative and fun ways. Test your aim in the curling
competition. Create a car to use in a mini bob sled race. You will leave class
counting the days until the February games! RUBBER STAMPING (K-5th Grade) Instructor: Alexandra Dezenzo K-2nd
& MaryAnn Kasper 3rd – 5th In this class we will be making 3 projects each class consisting of cards, gift bags, stationery, and 3D projects. We will be learning basic and two-step stamping and coloring techniques, as well as using a die cutting machine. New Build-A-Bear dies and stamps and in and we'll be using them to make some of the projects! SCRAP BOOKING (K – 5th Grade) Instructors: Melissa DePerna Create a colorful album of cherished people, places and events using scrap booking products including papers, stickers and scrap booking tools. What a phenomenal way to relive and share memories while reinforcing creativity, self-esteem and confidence! Students should bring 20 developed pictures of each season (spring, summer, fall, and winter, including birthdays and holidays), 80 pictures total should be brought to the first session. Allow the children to take photos of their home, family, friends, pets, sports etc. and select their favorite shots for use in this project. Kids never seem to have enough pictures, so send in duplicates of photos you already have at home SILLY SNACKS (3rd-5th
Grade) Instructor: Kim Benard The name of this class says it all!! Learn to make fun and delicious foods. Bring an apron and a smile to this scrumptiously delightful class. Wearable Art (3rd-5th
Grade) Instructor You will make a variety of different art projects that can worn or carried. Bring your creative imagination to each class and go home with a different art project. YOGA (3rd – 5th
Grader) Instructor: Cheyane Reisner Yoga is an ancient discipline that explores, develops and integrates the body, mind and spirit. We will work on stretches and poses that strengthen muscles throughout the body. We will work on core strengthening and balancing poses to improve flexibility and posture. Students will improve concentration and focus, stimulate their imagination and help to release energy in a fun safe environment. In this class we will employ a gentle, encouraging teaching style that will improve confidence as well as overall health. Students should dress comfortably.
