Room Parent Help Needed

 

 

 

 

Room Parent – Each homeroom will have two room parents.  The role of the room parent is to work with all room parents and teachers within each grade level to plan and run the Halloween and Holiday class parties, end of the year picnic and accompany the class on scheduled field trips.  Room parents will also be asked to help out during Staff Appreciation week in the spring.  An orientation meeting will be scheduled for all room parents.  Please understand that part of the room parent responsibility is attending all meetings prior to the class parties.  We ask that you take this into consideration as you make your decision.

*Please note that for safety purposes, siblings may not attend parties, picnics or field trips.

 

Head Room Parent – One head room parent per grade level is needed to coordinate/hold meetings with all room parents for that specific grade level, work with the teachers, school nurse and the principal’s office to obtain final approval on all parties.  The head room parent will also be the room parent for one classroom.  (Head room parent should have one year room parent experience.)

 

Halloween and Holiday parties are normally one and a half hours long and involve snacks, and a craft and/or organized games.  Please note in some classrooms there may be more room parent volunteers than are needed.  In those cases, a selection will be done to determine the classroom room parent.  You will be contacted by the Room Parent Committee Chairperson.

 

**Please note that you must be a paid PTA member to be considered for either position.**

 

Submit the completed form in an envelope labeled “PTA - Room Parent” and return it to school by Friday, September 17^th.
