September Events
August 31: Ironia Welcome Night:  6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
On Monday, August 31, the Ironia PTA will host its annual Welcome Night
for new students and kindergarteners.  Grab your map and let us lead the
way as we help our new friends explore all that Ironia has to offer!  Have
your passport stamped as you stop throughout the building.  Our event will
be held from 6:00 pm - 7:30pm.  If you have any questions, please contact:

September 3: Welcome back!! -- First Day of School for Students
September 3: Whole School Meeting:  9:15 am - 9:40 am (Ironia Gym)
The first whole school community meeting will be held today at 9:15 am
in the Ironia Gym.  Parents are invited to attend to see how our students
begin each day!
September 7: Randolph Township Schools closed for Labor Day
September 9: PTA Committee Chairs meeting:  9:30 am (Ironia Cafeteria)
The Ironia PTA will hold a Committee Chairs meeting at 9:30 am in the
cafeteria.  All Committee Chairpersons are encouraged to attend.  There
will be several handouts and new information available regarding coming 
events, communication and PTA reimbursement.  If you have any

September 11: Inside Ironia - deadline for submission
September 14: Innisbrook Fundraiser (Sale dates:  09/14/09 - 10/02/09)
The PTA annual Innisbrook Gift Wrap Sale/fundraiser will be held from
September 14 - October 2.  Orders must be place by October 2 to ensure
that items arrive by Thanksgiving.  In keeping with our theme of going green,
Innisbrook has made ordering paperless with their EZ-online order entry
system AND also provides the option to order via a 1-800 number.  Each
Ironia family will receive one packet that may be used to make your
purchases and shared with family and friends.  The PTA will earn 50%
of all sales!  The gift wrap sale is our second largest fundraiser.  Last year,
we earned $10,000+ thanks to your generosity.  We are proud that every
penny earned is invested in our students!  If you have any questions,

September 16: PTA meeting:  9:15 am - Ironia library
Please join us at 9:15 am in the Ironia Library for our first PTA meeting of
the year.  All are encouraged to attend!  Children are always welcome!
September 17: Ironia Picture Day
Put on your favorite shirt and comb your hair for Ironia's fall picture day!
An order form will be sent home with your child.  Please be sure to
complete the form and send it to school on or before today.  If you have
any questions, please contact the Ironia main office.
September 17: Back to School Night:  Grades K - 2
Ironia Gym:  7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
First Grade Parents Only:  1st Grade 101:  6:15 pm - 6:45 pm
Please join us at 7:00 pm in the Ironia gym for Back-to-school night 2009!
Join us and meet your child's teacher and welcome a new school year.  Feel
free to ask questions and visit the classroom.  Please stop by the cafeteria
for refreshments courtesy of the PTA Hospitality Committee.
September 18: Market Day Orders Due (online orders due September 19)
The PTA is proud to offer the Market Day program.  The Shop-At-Home
grocery program returned to Ironia last March after five years.  Market
Day offers a wide selection of over 180 high quality foods at competitive
prices.  Thanks to Program Coordinator Gina Luciano, the PTA earned
$800+ in four months!  For a complete list of products, meal selections,
recipes, and nutritional information or to place your order, please visit the

All completed order forms must be submitted to the PTA by today or you
may place your order online.  Be sure to designate Ironia Elementary as

September 24: Back to School Night:  Grades 3 - 5
Ironia Gym:  7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

September 25: Ironia Reading Train:  All Aboard!
To encourage and support the love of reading in our children, Ironia students
will participate in the Ironia Reading Train silent reading program each
Friday from 9:10 am - 9:30 am.  All students are asked to bring one or two
books and sit with their class in the hallway and read silently.  Ironia staff
members will model appropriate silent reading etiquette.  Welcome aboard!
September 25: Kidstuff books - payment due
Kidstuff payments and/or books are due to Ironia today.  If additional
copies are needed, please remember to turn in your completed order form
with a check made payable to the Ironia PTA.  If you do wish to purchase
a book, please return the copy that was sent to you.  The PTA is
responsible for all Kidstuff books.  Kidstuff books make great holiday
gifts for family and friends.  If you have any questions, please contact:

September 25: Market Day pick-up (Ironia Gym):  3:45 pm - 4:45 pm
Market Day orders will be available for pick-up beginning at 3:45 pm in
the Ironia Gym.  Please remember to bring your payment.  Note that cash
or checks (made payable to Market Day) will be accepted.  Credit cards
may be used for online orders only.  All orders must be picked up by
4:45 pm.  The PTA is not responsible for any order left after 4:45 pm.

September 29-30: Scholastic Bookfair (Book fair dates:  09/29/09 - 10/02/09)
The PTA fall Scholastic book fair will be held all week in the Ironia library.
Please be sure to check the schedule to see when your child's class will be
attending.  Your child may purchase books for himself, family members or
select a book from his teacher's classroom library wish list.  Book titles
are available for all ages.  Parents are welcome to attend the book fair
with their children.  Siblings are also welcome!  Book fair hours:
Tuesday, September 29:  9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Wednesday, September 30:  9:00 am - 3:30 pm
